President: Mae Guerra
As President of the Student Nurses' Association, Mae Guerra is responsible for overseeing the entirety of the organization. She presides all meetings and functions as a resource for all members and committees. Her main responsibility is to review applications for any position and orchestrate yearly elections. Not only that, the president responds to any questions and concerns in relation to the organization and represents UNF SNA in a professional manner. Mae is ecstatic to be working with everyone this year and is more than willing to help with anything!
1st Vice President: Sara Marie Saliba
As 1st Vice President of the Student Nurses' Association Sara Marie's main responsibility is applying for, preparing, and orchestrating UNF SNA Chapter’s attendance at the Florida Nursing Students Association (FNSA) and the National Student Nurses' Association (NSNA) Conventions. Convention attendance enhances one’s influence and understanding of the future of the nursing profession. The 1st VP also assists the chairperson of The Legislative Committee with revising UNF SNA bylaws as needed, the Historian with maintaining a historical archive of past convention activities and achievements, and the President with any delegated tasks. Sara-Marie is a native osprey entering her senior year at UNF. She has a minor in anthropology.
2nd Vice President: Violette Alsaka
Violette Alsaka is your 2nd Vice President. The main responsibility of the 2nd VP is to plan and organize the summer and fall Taking Flight Orientation for new student nurses. This includes enlisting volunteers, scheduling, setting up vendors, and any other tasks associated with orientation. With each Taking Flight, our goal is to help encourage, prepare, and ease the incoming cohort into their first semester of the program.
Recording Secretary: Shea Westfall
The role of the recording secretary is to record the minutes from all general and executive meetings of SNA. The previous meeting minutes will be read out at each meeting. The minutes include attendance, officer reports, announcements, the time and date of the next meeting and any other pertinent information at the time. The minutes are always available to the UNF SNA members.
Corresponding Secretary: Lindsey Bednarski
As Corresponding Secretary, Lindsey works on all SNA correspondence including drafting letters from the executive board to retaining all pertinent records of SNA. She loves to promote a positive image of nursing as a profession and communicate with new students. Additionally, Lindsey keeps up with all the FNSA and NSNA information and shares it with the executive board. SNA is a passion of Lindsey's and she loves to represent UNF in a positive way to the public.
Treasurer: Jaclyn Lahey
As treasurer, Jaclyn is responsible and accountable for maintenance of UNF chapter funds. The Treasurer is responsible for creating an annual budget, keeping record of membership dues, and monitoring various SNA expenses. The treasurer works closely with the President and Executive Board and has the authority to spend pre-approved amounts of the budget on line items for SNA events.
Historian: Jacob Southard
As our Historian, Jake maintains a historical archive of past events, community projects, and other UNF SNA activities. The archive consists of event information, fliers, and photographs. This is critical to maintain our Diamond Chapter Award and Stellar Chapter Award. Jake is a Navy veteran from California and enjoys photography, yoga, and camping.
